Downtown Disney Tuesday!

This will be a regular feature as I am always out at Disney on Tuesday and I usually stay for music and honestly, I'm starting to get excited about the transformation of Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. It's still got a long way to go, but I'm starting to see it and I'm excited.

What do I love about DTD?

Well, it's absolutely free.

Free Admission. Free Parking. Free Entertainment.

What's not to love?

It's an open air market of shops, dining and entertainment that is currently undergoing a huge renovation turning it into Disney Springs.

Here's a quick video showing the idea of Disney Springs. Take it away Theron...

I'm loving it. The old pleasure island bridge is open again now, totally resurfaced and I walked along what used to be the old pleasure island and it looks nothing the same. It's not even finished yet, but the section I was in, the architecture seemed more plantation style, it seemed like it has been there forever, all the flower beds are of course filled with poinsettias these days and the brick pavers and little nooks currently there, are amazing. Yes, I notice the pavers!
Other changes lately, have been the reopening of the Market Place boat launch, and the park stage where Nicholas Marks, Andre Caram and others are playing now nightly. This stage sets right between what will be two dining locations, The Boathouse and The Hanger, and today I spent some time in the new food truck park, which has some great energy might I add!
I was very happy about this. There are some tables to sit and write, it's right of the lake, so you can sit there and look out over the water while Disney goes on around you. It's pretty terrific.
I also met up with my meet up group at Starbucks, and after I did an intense meditation.
I moved over to the Landing, the courtyard in front of Fulton's Crab House.

Now Fulton's used to be The Empress Lilly, named after Walt's wife. It is a static full-size replica of a paddle steamer riverboat, 220 feet long and 62 feet wide. Though it resembles a boat, it is actually a boat-shaped building on a submerged concrete foundation. A bit of Disney magic there, because you'd never know it to look at it, but back to my story, I'm in the courtyard in front of this boat structure, and I found an out of the way spot that was dark. There were twinkle lights, Christmas decor and music playing and I had a very serious conversation with my guides.
This is something I love about Disney. I find it very conducive to prayer and meditation. After that it was music with Nicholas, then it was time to run on home. I did however get a lot of ideas for some future fiction and just all in all had a blissful time, oh and I saw some fireworks as I headed back to the TTC (ticket and transportation center, from which I catch the city bus).
It may take me a bit to get the swing on this blog, but I can already tell, I'm going to love this. I hope you do too.
Many blessings and magical moments. ~ Samantha
